This rosary was the hardest rosary I have ever made. I had heard of the tragic death of sweet, baby Mariella. A friend of mine is a friend of Mariella’s mother and requested a “Mother’s Rosary” for her. I prayed hard about how to proceed as I wanted this rosary to be meaningful. I used white Swarovski crystal pearls for the Aves to indicate the purity and innocence of her children. The names of the children are surrounded by their birthstones. The Paters are pewter roses, symbolizing each prayer as a rose to lay at Our Blessed Mother’s feet, asking for her intercession. This mother’s favorite color is pink, so I chose the pink Swarovski bi-cone crystals as accents around the Paters and for the spacers between the letters of Mariella’s name. The mother and child centerpiece was the easiest part to pick out as this one depicts the Blessed Mother holding the Child Jesus close to her heart. The pink Swarovski crystal butterfly symbolizes the life of Mariella and how she is now with Jesus in heaven. Peridot Swarovski crystals surround the butterfly….Mariella’s birthstone. A Miraculous Medal hangs with the St. Benedict crucifix.
